Yarn Base
The Lake Mendota Monster is a beloved part of Madison's folklore and has inspired local art, literature, and even tourism. It's sometimes mentioned in the same breath as other mythical aquatic creatures, like Scotland's Loch Ness Monster or Lake Champlain's "Champ."

To blend with the murky waters and aquatic vegetation of Lake Mendota, some say the monster's skin would be dark green, mimicking the lake's underwater environment. Others say it would have a more mottled or reptilian coloration. This layered colorway aims to capture our interpretation of what the monster might look like, making use of deep greens, dark teals, and black to evoke a moody and fantastical take on this fascinating cryptid's coloration.
